Gaining Muscle

Okay, on here I see that Zim says that we should not consume more than 50 grams of protein. My overall goals are to become fit don't get me wrong, but what if your goal is also to gain strength? I have done some reading on body building and all of them say that we need at least 2 grams of protein per pound on our body in order to become strong and muscular. How much protein should I be consuming to gain muscle?
